The Most Popular 30 Instagram Hashtags That Resellers Need
Hashtags are a way to organize and categorize posts for your audience. Hashtags are also a great way to reach new audiences on Instagram or any social media platform. Hashtags used on Instagram versus Tiktok (for example) reach different audiences per platform and views will vary as well.
I created three lists of 10 hashtags per category (reselling, thrifting, sustainability) that you can use for your Instagram posts.

Reminder…
- Don’t use the same set repeatedly every day, try to mix up sets that relate to your post. For example, if your reel is about your latest thrift haul, include thrifting-related hashtags, brand-related hashtags (Free People, Anthropologie), and who your target audience is
- Don’t use more than 30 in a set of hashtags, if you use more than 30 hashtags, Instagram will hide your post. Try mixing up the number of hashtags you use for your Instagram post. Creators experiment with a different number of hashtags for single-image posts, carousels, and reels such as 3, 15, and 30 hashtags.
- Don’t rely only on hashtags to grow your account and attract followers. Engaging with your audience will always be the number one way to grow your Instagram community.

All suggested hashtags listed are under 100k as of 2/7/22 and can be mixed and matched to create different lists. The hashtags shown here are meant to help you with new hashtags, trying different combos, etc!
There are many hashtag strategies out there…I’m still learning what works best on my account (3-5, 15, or all 30). The hashtags provided won’t make your post go viral or get tons of followers but they will help you with engagement and be seen (that’s the goal). A great way to engage with new accounts is to select a hashtag and view the most recent posts under that hashtag and engage with those creators!
I would also recommend using hashtags greater than 100k depending on your audience size. Again…all trial and error but that is the best way we learn right?! To read about my journey and how I learned how to use Instagram, click here.
