10 powerful Bible Verses For Singles You Need to Know
Being a single Christian woman can be quite challenging, especially if you are over 40 years old like me and in this post, we will discuss different bible verses for singles. I am going to be transparent for a moment, am I the only one who struggles with sitting at church and watching couples hold hands or worship God during service? I am very happy for them, but deep down, I long for the same connection with a partner.
I often wonder, am I called to singleness or is it a season of waiting?
We can pray for a future husband during our season of singleness while also praying for contentment and learning to embrace our season of singleness as a Christian woman.
At 42 years old, I accepted this season that God has placed me in. I may not understand it, but I am content with this chapter, or maybe a few chapters of being single but it wasn’t easy to get to this point. Let’s rewind a bit.
After countless failed relationships and heartache, I surrendered the idea of marriage (read my story here). One of the most difficult prayers I have asked God is to remove anyone in my life who was not sent by Him, from Him, or meant to be in my life, especially in a relationship.
Out of all the prayers I have prayed, this is the fastest prayer God has answered… every single time.
After complete surrender, I was filled with contentment, love, and assurance, knowing that God was fulfilling that longing I had for a relationship.
Don’t get me wrong…I do struggle. There are days that I am lonely, sad, anxious, and all the other emotions one may feel during this season of singleness or waiting. Trust me, you are not alone.

what does the bible say about being single?
Our identity, our purpose is not in relationships or marriage but in Jesus Christ, to glorify and worship our creator. We are not promised marriage or a relationship but God does promise that He will fulfill our needs and desires (Luke 1:45).
When you are feeling lonely, pray to Jesus to remove that feeling of loneliness with His presence, recite these bible verses for singles, and remind you that you are His as stated in Isaiah 43:1 below.

10 Encouraging bible verses For Singles that can help you in your relationship with Go:
Bible verses about being content with yourself
1: Psalm 37:4
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
I often struggle with anxiety, being anxious about the future or the unknown. This verse reminds us to pray about everything, the good, the bad, the big, and the small because God knows our hearts and He knows our innermost desires. Give thanks in any season you are in.

2: 1 Corinthians 7:8
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am.
Being a single Christian woman allows us to focus on God, the ministry He has called us to do, and serve wholeheartedly without distractions. Bible verses for singles tell us to refrain from engaging in any situations that could cause temptations outside of marriage until we are married.

3: James 1:2–4
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
As a single Christian woman, it is challenging sometimes because we face many trials alone, such as finances, the desire for motherhood, etc, but God uses trials the good and the bad for our benefit. We may not be aware of His reasons now but we know all things work together for our good. He guides us to walk in His will as He shapes us into a reflection of a Proverbs 31 woman.

Bible verses about being single and lonely
4: Psalm 25:16
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
I have been single for quite some time and there are plenty of times that I feel alone and I am sure you as well, but we are never truly alone. Jesus is with us on our journey through every high and every low. Focus and rely on Him when you feel lonely. Memorize and recite the bible verses for singles that are listed in this post, and turn on your favorite worship music and dance with Jesus.

5: Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
One of my favorite promises in the Bible is this scripture verse about loneliness: “God will never leave you nor forsake you.” Even when it feels like there is no hope, there is hope in Jesus. When I am alone, I often ask Jesus to sit with me, to speak to me through prayer, and reading His word, and that feeling of loneliness is lessened.

6: Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
I know this verse all too well! We all experience heartbreak at some point in our lives. Feeling despair and sadness are natural human emotions, but this Psalm reminds us that the Lord is near, He is not far from us but right next to us in our tears. He sits with us when we cry and holds us when we are lonely.

7: 1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Amongst many bible verses for singles, 1 Peter is a favorite of mine for many reasons. Anxiety can creep up on us when we see others in relationships or when our church crush is seen with another. As we get older, it may feel like we are running out of time or our clock is ticking. God’s timing is different from ours (thankfully), and His ways are different than our ways. He knows what is best for us. When you feel anxious, pray with this verse, and know that Jesus is with you.

bible verses For Singles about trusting god plan
8: Isaiah 26: 4
Trust in the Lord Forever, because in the Lord, the Lord himself, is an everlasting rock.
Trusting God in all situations is a process in which I strive to become better at every day. Take comfort in knowing that He has a plan for you, and He is all that you will ever need and this bible verses for singles is an excellent reminder of the God we serve.

9: 1 Corinthians 7:17
Each of you should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you, and remain as you were when God first called you. This is my rule for all the churches.
If you are a single Christian woman who has chosen to stay single, is waiting for the right person, has left a difficult relationship, or is focused on growing her relationship with God, trust His will and guidance. Know that He is using this current season of singleness and waiting for a reason.

10: Isaiah 43:1
But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
One of my favorite bible verses for singles that I pray daily is knowing whom I belong to and taking comfort that God is with me in every moment, for He is mine, and I am His. We find our fulfillment and contentment in Jesus when He is our everything, above all else, even above a husband. I did not find full contentment until I laid the idea of marriage at the cross and trusted God’s will for my life, whether that be in singleness or marriage.
